This article presents a historical overview of the implementation of Telehealth within the scope of the Unified Health System. The analysis will focus on both the regulatory aspects and the practical impact of Telehealth, using data from existing literature on telehealth, survey of standards, legislation and regulations. The evolution of the Telessaúde Brasil Redes program, the use of interoperable information systems and the ongoing education of health professionals are aspects that certainly contributed to the improvement of care in Primary Care in the SUS. This becomes fundamental, especially in areas with large care gaps and in the care of historically excluded and vulnerable populations.
Elis Márcia Araújo Gomes , Carlos Humberto Spezia, Wagner de Jesus Martins, Kellen Cristina da Silva Gasque Copyright (c) 2025 Elis Márcia Araújo Gomes , Carlos Humberto Spezia, Wagner de Jesus Martins, Kellen Cristina da Silva Gasque https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3707 Fri, 04 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Development of accessible educational resources: knowledge and practices of E-learning professionals https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3648
This study investigated the knowledge and practices of 21 developers of digital educational resources (DERs) at the Open University of the Unified Health System of the Federal University of Maranhão for people with hearing loss/deafness. An online questionnaire was used to collect sociodemographic data and information on knowledge and application of accessibility criteria. Most of the professionals were aware of the general accessibility criteria for producing EDRs, but not the specific guidelines for these resources. They knew that the lack of a window for translation into Libras compromises comprehension and that, in videos, the translation box should be in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. They also recognized that the absence of subtitles in videos hinders comprehension. The majority did not use automatic validators. The results show a broad knowledge of accessibility criteria, a commitment to accessibility and inclusion practices, and the need for ongoing training in the area.
Kaynara Beatriz Monteiro Lima, Elza Bernardes Monier, Ana Emilia Figueiredo de Oliveira, Paola Trindade Garcia Copyright (c) 2025 Kaynara Beatriz Monteiro Lima, Elza Bernardes Monier, Ana Emilia Figueiredo de Oliveira, Paola Trindade Garcia https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3648 Wed, 02 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Cartografia social como estratégia educativa para integralidade do cuidado em saúde indígena https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3619
Through reliance on a systematization of social cartography, as an active methodology, the article aimed to qualify the integrality of care within the health education field, by using activities from the specialization course in indigenous health of Universidade Federal de São Paulo in partnership with Universidade Aberta do Sistema Unico de Saude, in distance modality. Methodology integrated two axes. The first, more structural, represented by a social cartography model, organized to analyze aspects of a given territory; and the second, substantiated over the health surveillance conjuncture, as a supplementary guide, expected in the actions of multi-professional indigenous health teams, where the integrality of care assumes a key concept. We concluded that the systematization proved to be efficient, facilitating the articulation among acquirements through accessible procedures, simplifying the pedagogical processes as a strategy in health education, as well as in qualifying integrality of care.
Maurici Tadeu Ferreira Santos, Vanessa Moreira Haquim, Pâmela Roberta de Oliveira, Ana Elisa Rodrigues Alves Ribeiro, Aécio Menezes Nogueira Copyright (c) 2025 Maurici Tadeu Ferreira Santos, Vanessa Moreira Haquim, Pâmela Roberta de Oliveira, Ana Elisa Rodrigues Alves Ribeiro, Aécio Menezes Nogueira https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3619 Wed, 02 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Multiprofessional Preceptor Improvement Program: potentialities and challenges of the first offering https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3613
The Multiprofessional Preceptor Improvement Program for Teaching and Service Integration in Health Territories is an enhancement offered to preceptors in a distance learning and self-instructional format. This article aims to evaluate the first offering of the Program to identify its main strengths and weaknesses. The evaluation process was based on a mixed approach of quantitative and qualitative assessment. The Program had a high completion rate and participant satisfaction, achieved its learning objectives, and promoted changes in the work process. The main weaknesses were the focus on medical content in the courses and the Program's orientation towards primary care, which differed from the profile of the participating professionals. The evaluation of this first offering of the Program will allow for the improvement of future offerings, considering the importance of continuous course offerings for preceptor training.
Diego Diz Ferreira, Marina Bastos Paim, Márcio Flavio Moura de Araújo , Kellen Cristina da Silva Gasque Copyright (c) 2025 Diego Diz Ferreira, Marina Bastos Paim, Márcio Flavio Moura de Araújo , Kellen Cristina da Silva Gasque https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3613 Wed, 02 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the neurological disorders in Primary Care course https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3785
“Attention to Frequent Neurological Problems in Primary Care” was an online self-instructional course offered by UNASUS UFOP from 2020 to 2023, coinciding with the COVID-19 pandemic. Objectives: To characterize the profile of enrollments and completions of participants with the phases of the pandemic according to age, gender, location, and profession. Methodology: This is an analytical, cross-sectional, and quantitative study of the course participants. Results: There was a concentration in the younger age groups (20-29 years, 52.74%; 30-39 years, 25.55%), with a predominance of women (81.89%), students (49.13%), and individuals from the southeast region (35.24%); the phases of the pandemic affected course demand and completion rates, with trends related to age group, profession, and region of the country. Participants from the North and Northeast regions appear to have been more affected by regional pandemic response issues. Conclusion: Enrollments and completions varied with the phases of the pandemic and regional specificities. As a cross-sectional study, complementary studies are needed.
Felipe César Soares, Thais Nara Costa Ferreira, Victória Flor Bretas, Leonardo Cançado Monteiro Savassi Copyright (c) 2025 Felipe César Soares, Thais Nara Costa Ferreira, Victória Flor Bretas, Leonardo Cançado Monteiro Savassi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3785 Wed, 02 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Health education: discursos, práticas and challenges https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3668
Health education processes include ways in which the interaction between health professionals and the population occurs, considering the ways in which individuals act in their daily lives, guided by the social and cultural contexts in which they are inserted, in conjunction with experiences that are both collective and singular. The objective of this study was to problematize educational aspects involving mothers of premature newborns during hospitalization in the neonatal ICU. This is a qualitative research. The tympanization method was chosen as the path to be followed and the transcreation workshop (OsT) as the research strategy. Carrying out the OsT, as a practice that favors creative processes and co-participation, allowed the dissemination of meanings about health education in the ICU. As a chain of supplements, health education is considered an artistic act, with possibilities of bringing the unprecedented and the protagonism of all those involved.
Nélia Cristiane Almeida Caldeira, Emília Carvalho Leitão Biato Copyright (c) 2025 Nélia Cristiane Almeida Caldeira, Emília Carvalho Leitão Biato https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3668 Wed, 16 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Repercussions of the mental health improvement course for adolescents and young people https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3637
The objective was to analyze the satisfaction of graduates from a mental health improvement course for adolescents and young adults, their perceptions of learning, and to identify the challenges in implementing changes. This was a qualitative study with 20 graduates, interviewed online. The results showed that the course deconstructed stereotypes and provided confidence in dealing with adolescents. The teaching strategy involving complex cases in a fictional setting allowed graduates to relate to the reality of their work and understand adolescence in its diversity, respecting various diversities and intersectionalities. The study confirmed that the course achieved its goal, as it expanded the theoretical framework of the graduates, emphasized ethical issues, and highlighted the importance of teamwork and intersectoral coordination. The identification of difficulties, many of which are embedded in complex dimensions (social, economic, or political), demonstrated that translating theory into practice for the graduates is a challenge beyond the course itself.
Márcia Regina Cangiani Fabbro, Débora Dupas Gonçalves do Nascimento, Eloisa Grossman, Sílvia Helena Mendonça de Moraes Copyright (c) 2025 Márcia Regina Cangiani Fabbro, Débora Dupas Gonçalves do Nascimento, Eloisa Grossman, Sílvia Helena Mendonça de Moraes https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0 https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3637 Fri, 04 Apr 2025 00:00:00 -0300 Profile of students with disabilities graduating MOOCS courses offered by UNA-SUS/UFMA https://re.ucpel.edu.br/rsd/article/view/3617
This study aims to define the profile of students with disabilities who completed Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) offered by the Open University of the Unified Health System of the Federal University of Maranhão (UNA-SUS/UFMA). Data collection was carried out through an online form in the Virtual Learning Environment (AVA), covering sociodemographic characteristics, professional activity, assessment of the use of Information and Communication Technologies, prior experience with distance learning courses, and types of disabilities. Most students were female, self-identified as white, single, with a completed higher education, working in the healthcare field, not employed by SUS, and from the Southeast region. Primary disabilities were more prevalent, with motor and visual disabilities being the most common.
